In Bloom is one of those pieces that reminds me why I love making art this way. I’ve always been drawn to classic flower paintings — but I wanted to reimagine them with the freedom, joy, and imperfection that comes from working by hand. Every shape in this artwork began as a scrap of paper, cut, moved, and layered until it felt just right.
From Vincent van Gogh’s expressive sunflowers, to Claude Monet’s soft garden studies, to the bold, modern blooms of Georgia O’Keeffe, flowers have long been a way for artists to explore colour, feeling, and form. In Bloom takes that rich tradition and joyfully reimagines it for kids, grown-ups, and families today.
