Big Wheels
A self initiated print series celebrating the joy of hitting the open road and roaming free. This project is all about life on wheels — from the everyday to the unexpected. A cyclist mid-pedal, a family setting off on a road trip, a chef steering a burger-on-wheels, even the precision thrill of a Formula One car — each illustration explores personality through movement and silhouette.
About the artwork
Welcome to the “Big Wheels” collection, a playful experiment of illustrated character design, storytelling, and unique paper cut outs, all inspired by wonderful wheels. The series plays with scale, humour and dynamic composition to capture that universal feeling of going somewhere, fast or slow. It’s a vibrant study in character-led illustration, where transport becomes expression and every set of wheels carries its own sense of adventure.
The chug of the mortadella sausage mobile, the crunch of the gravel riding delivery man, and the tick-tock of the wind-up family car, each illustration is designed to capture attention with bold silhouettes and playful forms, and then retain attention by noticing hidden details and unusual stories. Each artwork is made up of individual shapes cut by hand and then assembled into brand new artworks. With every placed piece scanned in, there movement and misaligned elements that only add to the character of each piece bringing the hand of the artist and humanism at every point.
